Woohoo!

Recommended Posts

Well it seems to be a Woohoo :yahoo: week for me.

By some miracle and despite some homebrew update problems I managed to get git ftp up and running.

I can't remember the last time I've had such a productive week :)

New snooker cue has arrived. I've been waiting 10 months (literally) for it to be made, so despite my time plugin erroring all over the place, I'm quite happy at the moment.

I've got some new headphones. At first I was gutted because they didn't cancel noise, but I changed the earpiece, and they're pretty good now.

The only problem is that the noise leaks a bit, which means everyone will be able to hear me listening to Wrecking Ball or something. Which never happens btw.

I just launched a new v 2 with this cool 301/404 system I been working on. So far 10k of junk disposed of and fresh paths being indexed. I never dreamed it would work this well ... its been long in the making but damn that's good.

Woohoooooooo!

123reg (grrrr) I spent some time investigating why my .htaccess wasn't recognised and found I actually needed to do everything via web.config file.

All sorted, thought :D

Last "woo hoo" posted here May 2nd. I'll use by 23rd post to say that I've now made 22 (non-spammy) posts and restriction lifted?

Woohoo! all this semesters exams passed (and even with decent grades) and I'm now starting an extremely long summer break. I might even get bored enough (and poor enough) to hunt down some old clients and do some "real work".

Finally got my availability checker working with this insane booking site. Had fun working on more backend-ish stuff for a while and may have even learned a thing or two :D

Do you use a third party booking system?

Do you use a third party booking system?

No, I'm using the Trip Advisor API installed on the booking engine's server. Ideally they would have their own accessible API but this will have to do. I could use something third party but the one they use is integrated with in-house hotel booking software so it doesn't involve extra work for my clients.

Finally Decided to get some USB Batteries. AA Batteries around my place die faster than a spider crawling up my wall. :vava: So I have been using them for a month now on everything possible. Tv remotes, Wireless Mouse's, Game Controllers, Flashlights etc. Finally I had to recharge a few through USB ports and in a few hours they were back fully charged! Whooo Hooo! Money is being saved! :yahoo:

Got a bottle of Nandos sauce. That's all.

Strange. The same thing happened to me.

In other news... I've finally converted my custom grid (Humbug) from Less to Sass.

Client came to me a few months ago looking to redesign his website. He came to me because he could no longer get ahold of the designer who currently managed his website. Must have gone out of business. After a bit of research, we realized the previous designer purchased the domain name in his name rather than in the name of the client. And so the client got a new website with a new name - both purchased in the clients name under their own account. We agreed at this time that as soon as the old domain name would become available he would purchase it. Glad to announce that the old name has been purchased and properly connected via 301 redirect and Google Webmaster Tools to the new name. All is right with the world again.

Today is the 3rd day... let me rephrase that. Today is the last day... I have been fighting with this positioning problem I have had now for days. I can get it to a 'close enough for government work' kind of thing but that is not good enough. 1 pixel that is all I need is 1 pixel and can I get it to move up 1 pixel? No, 5 pixels sure, or down 2 pixels but not up by 1.

After days of pounding my head against the proverbial rock I found it: --> padding-top: 1px <-- OMG! who put that there? If I find who you are, I will rewrite your code to make is say how silly you are for putting padding-top in my CSS.

It all ends well though so happy day :)

Ordered a NUC and a NAS to use as a media centre. Perhaps I will be able to use my poor stressed PC for work again without endless "not responding" prompts and eggtimers.

Sometimes I find having my studio at home a nightmare; but then I go to the fridge and find some bacon, Jack Daniels bbq sauce and a fresh uncut bloomer ... woohoo!
