Hi,

Just a quick question, wonder if anyone has noticed a similar problem, and has a solution. I am kinda new to web design, so I might just be being an idiot.

I am trying to get an image that is set in the background of my homepage, to blend nicely into the background colour of that homepage, in a nice gradient. I have tried to do this numerous ways, but always with the same result in Chrome.

This is what I mean; Here is a link to a screenshot of what the gradient should look like (using Internet Explorer 10):

And here is what it looks like in Chrome:

Why doesn't Chrome blend in nicely like IE does?

Basically at the moment I have the overlay image having the gradient all the way down to light grey colour, and the page background colour set to that same background colour. So why is Chrome displaying a difference in the colours?

Any help would be much appreciated...

Hey,

 

I have just figured out the solution to my problem. It all had to do with the colour profile my image was being saved in (it was stupidly saved iin something different than sRGB), and since Chrome apparently is one of the web browsers that take this colour profile into consideration, that was what was causing the difference in colours.

 

Hope this helps anyone who has similar problems...
