June 18, 201313 yr Hey guys first post here, ill probably be quite active following this post but initially came here for some advice from you guys (: Heres my website design so far, uploaded to a free web service just for testing before I get hosting & a real domain and it goes live http://skarmachild.byethost10.com/ I am a bit new to this web design thing and have been using a combination of Photoshop and Dreamweaver for the layout and design and got a few things I am unsure of how to do: 1. How can I make the white content box go all the way to the bottom of page minus a certain amount of pixels to leave the background in, regardless of what resolution the browser is viewed in. 2. How can I make the white content box scroll up and down, but not the background - I would like everything outside the white content box to sit still. 3. I would like the silhouette background image to be located at the bottom of the page, right now it sits as far as it can down and I have set the background image colour to the darkest orange colour you see. There is too much dark orange at the bottom of the page just now. I would like advice on how to achieve this in Dreamweaver as if I do it in Photoshop it wouldn't look right on the resolution that it isnt designed for. I hope this makes sense to you =] Thanks guys! First image is what it currently looks like on my screen, second is what i would like it to look like. Some tool/code to make it achieve the 2nd screen is what im after! June 18, 201313 yr Trouble with 'drawing' websites and not hand coding is that it throws in all sorts of code. Your one is using tables to layout the page; which is extremely outdated. Really you should be using html and css (html5). CodeAcademy and www3schools.com can help to get you started, though it will take some time. Best of luck with it and welcome to the forum.
