April 17, 201313 yr Hello to all you truckers. Just wanted to post this up in general chat rather than hardware as it's not really to do with web design as such. Mac haters, look away now I have a 2010 Mac Mini primarily used as a media centre with 4Gig RAM and no other alterations. Unfortunately it crashes quite often. The only real pattern I notice is when it's playing a film or if I'm using Photoshop. Without warning, the screen freezes and I get noise at the top of the screen and other than switching off at the wall, it doesn't respond to anything. My nerdy IT skill-McGill's are in Windows based stuff where I can open things up and have a look. I'm thinking it's either dodgy RAM (haven't touched it since replacing it when it was bought (2010)) or... well, I don't know. I've monitored the temperatures and it's not over heating and the processor doesn't seem to be overworked. Anyone experienced anything similar or have any suggestions (other than trashing it!). I like to use it to test websites out on the large screen too and it's becoming a nuisance when it crashes while I'm testing. Besides, I want to watch a film that's been sitting on the side for some time Cheers, m'dears *** Fixed *** Edited April 24, 201313 yr by 4li4s
