Introduction

Hello!

I've been looking for a decent community of web designers for a while and am glad to have stumbled upon this place. It seems to be a veritable wellspring of information with all things regarding web design & development, as well as being a good place to get constructive criticism on my designs, and that's precisely what I needed!

I've only had a light interest in web design up until now; I started out developing skins for free forum software about 8 years ago and now I'm looking at getting involved in the industry side of design & development. This is an example of something I've designed recently (ignore the orb) - I'm not overly confident in my design/Photoshop skills and am only now learning the basics of development.

I'll be teaching myself PHP & MySQL over the next few weeks (I only have a basic knowledge of them from previous work) and hope to move on to jQuery after so that I can get some decent websites up and running.

It's a pleasure to become involved in this community and I'm sure it'll be greatly beneficial to my experience.
