Crowdsourced Mapping - Community-driven site

Featured Replies

I want to follow up a previous post about creating a crowdsourced map.

Actually I need a community-driven site, which uses a map to allow residents of our neighborhood to report domestic and security issues, such as faulty lampposts, broken pipes, vandalism or petty crimes. We want this map to allow every resident to contribute, so it doesn't need any login to post reports. Posting would be as easy as dropping a pin on the map, or enter the address and the details they want to report.

My community will have staff to monitor the map so that any false reports can be removed immediately. Do you guys know any out of box solution, or mapping system which allows us to drop this in easily?

What you need is an interactive map with 'crowdsourced' capability, where users can upload information and based on the location, a pin is dropped onto this map and shared throughout with all users (in your case, residents of neighborhood). You as the map owner can then add / delete these crowd sourced pins.

See a sample crowd sourced map created using an online mapping tool at:

Each pin when hovered over, can also show a quick view of information input from specific users.
