ie6 issues

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

Hope everyone is enjoying this weather ;)

I'm working on a template-based site at the moment for a local company and I've come across a few browser issues, mostly in ie6. In this browser, the right border of the left-hand column is not displaying. Does anyone know why?

Well ... you have the navigation inside the .main-navigation div

.main-navigation {display:inline /*Fix IE floating margin bug*/; float:left; width:18em; overflow:visible !important /*Firefox*/; overflow:hidden /*IE6*/;}

and inside that you have this bordered div

.subcontent-unit-border_left {width:20em; margin:0 0 1.2em 1em; padding:0 0 5px 0; border:solid 1px #57B44C; background-color: #fff;}

The only problem is that the .subcontent-unit-border_left (has 20ems width) overflows the main navigation div (has only 18ems width) which has overflow:hidden.

You can increase the width of .main-navigation (i don't recommend that) or decrease the width of .subcontent-unit-border_left.

Play around with different values and watch out for the padding and margin of the .subcontent-unit-border_left.

Thanks for the reply 'Mihai Georgescu'.

For reference, I removed the overflow:hidden declaration from the ie6 stylesheet and changed the margins. This fixed the issue.
