I am a bit baffled at this one. When I go to Bing webmaster Center I see a notice about URL Normalization . My question is what am I supposed to do with the list of parameters that are disabled but has a option of enabling or deleting. Also I am able to ad a new Parameter.

 

 

This feature allows you to specify query parameters for Bing’s crawler to ignore.

For example, if you own http://www.devs.com.au/ and use this page to specify the parameter "abc" be ignored, the URL http://www.devs.com.au/home?abc=123 will be seen as http://www.devs.com.au/home. This means that URLs containing the query string parameter "abc" will have that parameter removed prior to indexing. The benefits include: preventing duplicate content in the Bing index, avoiding having a page's index value split between multiple URL variations, and avoiding unnecessary site bandwidth usage by the search crawler.

Well, URL normalization is a part of prioritizing your url by the search engines. Before your links are indexed and ranked they need to be normalized to a standard form which we call normalization. For instance,your link is a directory, then the link should have a / at the end. And similarly the letters after % should be capitalized and unwanted letters in longer URL should be shortened.
