Help me to make my design unique and stylish

Featured Replies

Hi there, me need some help!

I'm at face of design of Main page and whole brand of SitesTrader.com - kind of marketplace where users can create their auctions, so it's all about trade.

The problem is that site layout so simple :-) so I can't figure out how to make that site design unique and stylish?

Also, what my major mistake in that design?

Cheers!

Your design fails to orient the user. I clicked on the link and I had no idea what the site was for. I think the bounce rate on this site is going to be a problem for you.

One quick and simple way to address this would be to include the site name at the top, and a short tagline explaining what the site is about, and who it's for.

I would also say your stock images have not been well chosen. Apart from being cheesier than a pizza topping, they don't support your message. The smiling laptop girl doesn't say free listings to me, and the guy pointing up with both hands in no way illustrated gambling/ adult sites.

I don't mean to be rude, but the whole site looks like a rush job to me - like it hasn't been thought through properly.

Hi :-)

Thanks a lot for your review and advice!

You right, I felt it is something wrong with slider.

It's is hard for me to interpret business terms into graphics image.

I have following main ideas below:

1. "No listing fee, no commission fee, no hidden fees";

2. "We marketplace where registered users can create self-managed auctions to sell websites, domains, scripts, etc. or bidding to buy that stuff";

3. Marketplace loyal to adult, gambling websites (if it's legal content)

Also, I can add:

4. Easy to register, easy to create Auction, easy to sell, easy to buy!

Please give me main idea what kind of images me need to use to promote that 4 ideas, to convert visitors to sellers or buyers??

This is the point I'm trying to make. It's copy that converts your visitors into sellers and buyers, not images. Images can be a useful addition, especially when they illustrate the concept, but I would say to you that images may not be the way forward for you.

If you can't find images that support your offers, then broaden your thinking. Is there another way to communicate your offers? How about jumping straight in with a question - are you buying or selling? A short list of benefits for either scenario.

There are lots of ways you could play it.

That was a brilliant idea! Thanks!

I used: 1st Slide: SitesTrader.com - It is an Auction Marketplace where registered users can Trade: Websites, Domains, Scripts;

2nd Slide: Want to Buy Website, Domain, Script? [Details];

Last slide - Want to sell? [details]- Create Your Auction for FREE.

I attached screenshot.

:-) And it was really funny about "guy with fingers, pointing up with both hands"

What your opinion?
