My friend says http://www.amazon.co.uk/PHP-World-Wide-Web...466&sr=8-15 this book is a good one, but he's not that great with PHP, so i thought i best get a second opinion on a good one to learn from.

 

I'm looking for one thats from basic to intermediate.

PHP5 for Dummies - excellent book.

 

Once you've read that, get something like Essential PHP Security so that you know that what you're writing is secure.

I bought this one 2 weeks ago, I'm about halfway through and so far its awsome, really good clear explanations of everything and excerpts of code. Case studies of how to build a forum in php, and how to build an eccomerce site in php - I'd highly recommend it
