February 23, 201214 yr Hi, I'm in the process of redesigning my website (built using Joomla) but I have a problem with the top nav in IE9. The website is - Mann's Holidays When you hover over All Properties in the top nav and try to select a town from the drop down menu; they disappear before you can click on it! I have no idea why this is happening but it seems to be working fine in all other browsers! Can anyone help? Thank you! Aled Edited February 23, 201214 yr by Aled Mann
February 23, 201214 yr I've had that problem in IE and it's difficult to solve. Basicly, it's because there is a small space between the top level and the drop down level and the mouse cursor loses contact when bridging the space. The space may be caused by margin, padding, border or line-height. It will involve a lot of fiddling with those sizes. Start with all as 0 and line-height the same as the font size then test (it will look awful but should work) then increase some of them until you get it working and looking good. I gave up trying and used a working menu from cssplay http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/ and edited it, which was quicker and safer.
