April 12, 200818 yr Hiya I have had a new site uploaded except when trying to view the pages that need to connect to databse i get this error below, help would be appreciated! Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Host 'cpanel1.uk2.net' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server in /home/shamanic/public_html/Connections/shamanicwillow.php on line 9 Fatal error: Host 'cpanel1.uk2.net' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server in /home/shamanic/public_html/Connections/shamanicwillow.php on line 9
April 12, 200818 yr Hmmm... would hazard a guess that the MySQL server you are trying to connect to is configured to not allow connections from a remote server (local connections only). Does that sound right? - ie ARE you trying to connect to a remote database?

Does that sound right? - ie ARE you trying to connect to a remote database? i'm tryin to connect to the databse via my web hosting server - i have designed the site in dreamwaver cs3 and have been testing/preview on my pc using phpmyadmin. i have uploaded the sql databse file and added a user but i seem to be having trouble getting the pages that need the databse to run live via my hosting provider -0 do i need to configure anything in dreamwevaer cs3 before ulpoading the site?
April 12, 200818 yr It sounds more like a problem with the server configuration than anything Dreamweaver related. Can you paste the code where the mysql_connect() is trying to function (obviously dont paste your password)? Do you have any ability to edit the MySQL config (ie - can you edit my.conf via SSH)? If not you may need to contact your hosts to help you with this one.
