I think you should make slideshow bigger, and align everything.

I agree that the slide show on the main page should be bigger.

 

I'm also not sure why you have the grey bar on top of the page. It doesn't serve much of a purpose and it doesn't really break up the lack of colors that stand out. I suppose the site offers the functionality it needs, but I'm missing a bit of personality.

On your 'work' page I'd love to see the images as links to the websites

The grey bar was meant to be a bar holding little bits of information like current time and it also holds information in my admin system. However I guess it is a little bit redundant since I removed the time (removed the time as I thought there was no need for it as all computers have a clock on them somewhere!). So currently thinking what to do with that bar!

 

As for personality I agree it is a bit lacking, do you have any suggestions in that area??

 

Working on making the slideshow images larger now.

I'm afraid I can't give you advice on your own personality, but to bring in a bit more color you could use some divs to style code snippets from your blog.
