September 2, 201114 yr Hi, I'm running WAMP on a win XP sp3 box. It was working fine, then all of a sudden when I try to access "PHPMyAdmin" i get the following error message: Error MySQL said: Documentation #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) I installed WordPress on the wamp/www/wp/ folder and I can see the site when I use localhost/wp/ in my browser. so its all working. Just can't access PHPMyAdmin. Any ideas what to do? (i'm just a lowly front end guy, so this server buisness is new to me) cheers Kree8or

September 3, 201114 yr Yes I was about to say you will have to wipe it entirely and reinstall. Also if I recommend wamp for windows it is a much better server for your local machine.
September 5, 201114 yr Bit of an odd one but also get this a lot with ill various server setups under windows, be it WAMP or XAMP etc... Do you have Skype installed? and if so ether remove it or do not run Skype on the Pc before using or while using the WAMP server. Seems a strange suggestion I Know however there is somewhat of a known issue between the use of the two it seems, I'm yet to pinpoint why.

My WAMP services never go online when I use skype, I always have to quit it then restart WAMP. After it's restarted and goes online you can use skype and WAMP still works.
