July 20, 201115 yr so i presented my design spec to my client today and he liked the ideas i had. One of the design features is his logo hanging down from the hook of a crane (he's a builder). He likes this and wants it to move down the page to follow the users interaction (i.e. when scrolling down) Im thinking there must be a way to do this in Jquery and avoid Flash, but my own brain power does not have the expertise of writing my own jquery functions im afraid..... So i have turned to the WDF thanks in advance
July 20, 201115 yr Author no worries, i managed to find a way of doing it...... http://interwebsitedesign.co.uk/testing/test.html Stuck a testing file on my server space...how does it look? My only concern is that when a user scrolls down to read the text on the page, the logo is going to overlap it, so we may need to rethink the idea slightly....but still its a fun little function.
July 20, 201115 yr It catches your eye though, so why not use that to your advantage and turn it into the call to action of the website, which I presume is a telephone number for a quote. If it does overlap text then I would remove the functionality as content > design.
July 20, 201115 yr Author yep, thats exactly what i was thinking. Ive suggested to my client that i move it to the right and use it to display a phone number, as underneath it then would be two boxes for testimonials, but by the time you need to have scrolled, you would have already registered and viewed the testimonials, so you would not be blocking out any major content.
