Google Apps Issues

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section. This seemed to be the most appropriate spot to ask this question, as I suspect this may be an issue we need to resolve with our host.

We're currently working on a job for a client who has insisted on having their email set up with Google Apps/Gmail. We went through some dramas to get it set up initially, but eventually managed to import all of the emails from their old accounts into Gmail, and then switch the domain over. However, we're getting frequent errors when we send emails through to them. Probably around 50% of the time our emails bounce back, and we can only assume the same thing is happening with others.

Anyone have any thoughts on what could potentially be causing this problem?

Cheers,

Chris

2 things that appear problematic in the bounce message:

Perhaps you have not logged into the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP Authentication turned on in your email client.

Firstly ensure your mail clients authenticating with your SMTP server (you usually enable it in your mail clients Advanced Settings).

Before migrating your clients mail to Gmail, were they on the same server as you? If so, its worth confirming that your server is aware that the clients mail is no longer being served by that server. Not sure what type of server or control panel you're using, but you'll need to setup that domain has having mail remotely, not locally.
