I would like to create an interactive floor plan about a shop. on certain areas of the plan a visitor can hover over it and an image pops up. Is this easy to do and are there any relevant tutorials.

The simplest way would be to use the a:hover selector in CSS. Probably any basic CSS tutorial should work. You could try this one ablout displaying background images: CSS background images
