jquery id and class?

I wanted to work some jquery animation into my navigation bar but I already have some fairly elaborate CSS and the menu in question already has an id. Can I add a noJS class to my ul which already has an id? I just want to try it to see how it looks without recoding the whole navigation bar. Here is the page in question:
