I have registered a domain name with one company and web hosting with another.

How do I get the page held by my hosting to display when the domain name is accessed?

Your host should have this information somewhere on their site, or in an email, for you to follow.

 

In essence, you are given a name server which you use to point your domain to. Your hosting company should of sent you an email with their/your name server address. Then you log in to the company who supplied your domain, go to domain setting, then put that name server address in there somewhere.

 

It can take up to 24 hours to fully take effect.

Go to your domain control panel to propagate your domain to your web hosting.

Your hosting company will tell you what their NAMESERVERS are and these you will need to enter at your domain registrar panel.

 

All of the sites I've set up so far I've registered the domain separate to the hosting (even if the client decided not to use our own hosting service) - that way you're not tied in and can shop for the best price on the domain.
