November 12, 201015 yr Hi guys, Anyone know what the deal is regarding fonts that used to be free, but are not anymore. I'm thinking of fonts like Public Gothic. I presume I can't use @font-face for it, because I downloaded it when it was free but now you have to pay for it! Anyone know for sure?
November 12, 201015 yr I've never heard of that happening before! Keep a note of the website where you downloaded it free and the date. Check if the website still shows it as free. If not, I can only suggest that you wait for the copyright holder to contact you and then explain that it was free (be sure of your facts). This site says that it's still free http://imjustcreative.com/public-gothic-font-family-free-beta-download/2009/11/02/ "While they are free, they are not in the public domain and remain in the exclusive property of Antrepo. The free and non free Antrepo-fonts may not be redistributed in any way (they may not be resold, distributed commercially, they may not be made available for download) without the written permission of Antrepo"

November 16, 201015 yr Author Thanks guys, Yeah, it's a bit unusual but it's happened a few times with fonts I use quite a lot. And yeah, I use fontsquirrel - it's awesome!
