Hey everyone. I have quite a bit of experience in website design and development such as html, css, javascript and php. However I'm sure this question has been asked before but "what should I learn?"

 

I don't work in this industry I just have it as a hobby so what are the key languages I should learn. I've heard about cake, ruby, wordpress, joomla, ajax but don't really know much about them and if they are worth learning. Basically if anyone can give me a list of things they think I designer/developer should have, let me know. Thanks

I'd start with learning how to use the search feature on the forum. Believe it or not, that question has been asked a few times on here. Anyway, now that I've got that off my chest - here, for the 1,000,000th time, is the list:

 

"What languages should I learn":

HTML

CSS

PHP/ASP - both do the same job - an accompanying database (MySQL, SQL)

Javascript (jQuery)

a CMS: I'd recommend learning Drupal, because of the job market - other than that it's the usual 3: Wordpress, Modx, Expression Engine
