June 25, 201016 yr I had a look around but couldn't find anything on this, specifically. Also, I'm new around here so I'm not sure where this fits best, but I'll take my chances here! In the past few weeks I've built a forum for my political party, open to all, especially our adversaries. Thing is, I've started a cooperation with another group and we'd like to use their good page ranking to give my forum a leg up. The idea we have for this, right now, is that they create a subdomain on their server of the type "my site"."their site".com which points to my server. I've created an alias on my web host account, where I use that address as an alias for my own. Of course, when typing in the address, or clicking their link, you come to my main page, but as soon as you continue on from there it jumps over to simply "my site".com again. What we'd like to achieve is that all of my forum could be accessible under the "my site"."their site".com-address; is this even possible? Or is the only way to actually move the whole thing to their server? I had an idea that I simply buy the "my site"."their site".com-domain and place my whole site under that one, while they keep their subdomain pointing to their server, would this have any kind of positive effect? Well, newbie walking as you can see, but any pointers on this would be great!
