I would make it much more structured. There is far too much space between the elements.

 

And as a personal opinion (I know many will disagree), but lightbox (and other js plugins that do the same) are getting very old. It seems everyone and their dog has lightbox for their portfolio. If you want to standout, and I assume you do, do something different with your portfolio that you don't normally see.

Thank you, cibgraphics, I have bunched up the thumbnails. Everything's much closer together now. I agree with you about Lightbox-type effects being everywhere but I don't have a better idea yet.
