Forms Input Widths

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Im having an issue with forms.

Im trying to align a input field and a select field vertically.

Both have the same 7ems width, but on every broswer the select input is slighty smaller by a few pixel.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Martin

Try defining the width in pixels? Trouble with ems is that if you haven't specified the em size, then the browser will just be calculating the width according to its default size.

[0] Units of em are relative to the parent, check the parent size

[1] Check margins and padding of each element and consider defining if not explicitely set

[2] Joke would have been funnier with animation...

Thanks Guys,

Ive tried using pixels for the widths. Same issue, with it being a couple of pixels shorter than the input field.

Ive striped the borders off both input & select fields. its helps, but still no the same width.

Im sure it has something to do with the drop down arrow.
