Hello. My name is Doug Cloud and I am 49 year old commercial illustrator living and working in Michigan. From the time I could first wield a pencil I have been fascinated with art. In school I was always drawing things for the other kids - usually it was Snoopy on his dog house chasing the Red Baron or sometimes I would draw my own characters.

 

Cartoons and comics were a big inspiration when I was growing up so naturally this influenced the direction and style of my work. I think deep down I've always been a kid at heart. From the time my mom read Disney stories to me of Brer Rabbit and the Tar Baby to enjoying countless strips of Peanuts, B.C. and Pogo I think I was destined to do what I do. Of course, cartoons and characters isn't all I do. If a client needs a more serious logo design or illustration work I can do that, too. I'm pretty flexible.

 

I have always had the uncanny knack of visualizing how something should look and in 1998, after purchasing my first computer, I started making small graphic things for friends - web buttons, guest book designs, etc. Pretty soon people started paying me for these designs and that has led me to where I am today.
