March 20, 201016 yr Hi Everyone, Ive teamed up an asocial geek who admits he has no design ability in order that he can take his ability in coding etc onto a more commercial level while I deal with the clients and do the pretty colours. Having said that, having played around with WEbPlus for a few months, I realise that actually I rather like this and want to take the pretty colour thing a bit further ... so any advice is always welcome (and needed!) and I look forward to reading all the useful info there seems to be here ... i was thinking about doing a course, but the advice here seems to be not to .. and on an even more general level, what programs do you guys recommend using? thanks

March 20, 201016 yr Author thanks for that ,... but i guess i need to make myself clearer ... my experience (v limited!) has sparked an interest and possible potential ability to do this web design stuff ... but want I want to know is, in peopleś experience, what the best WYSISYG programs are to use ... and to learn on .. in the future i would like to sell web designs to mainly small business, entry level type sites. Ive been playing around on Serifś WebPlus4 but am aware its not a professional package, and think if i am looking to this future, rather than waste time further with this, shlould I invest in a "proper" professional package .. and if so, which? Is it necessary to start with say Dreamweaver, or would CoffeeCup be a good intro? any thoughts very greatly appreciated ...

Dreamweaver and the like as wysiwyg editors are very misleading as you will almost always not get what you see when you view your design in a browser. Most designers on this forum will advise you to learn to hand code and not rely on dreamweaver etc to generate the code for you.
