Site showing as chinese symbols in DW?

Hey guys,

 

Just been asked by somebody to update their existing website and said I would have a crack at it. I have connected to their site and opened up the index page but all that's coming up in DW is a bunch of chinese characters. The other pags seem to open fine, but is just the index page for some reason.

 

I have downloaded all the local files to my machine, and tried using filezilla instead also, but it's coming up with the same problem each time. Any ideas what's going on or how to gt around it?
