March 7, 201016 yr I've got a job interview lined up woohoo! But now I remember how much I hate interviews - there is literally nothing that scares me more! I have to do a presentation as well on a particular topic *shudders*. Oh well, wish me luck! Any advice would be great as it is my first interview for a job in this field (have worked in the financial sector for the past 5 years).
March 8, 201016 yr Author Be creative? How about I communicate via the medium of dance, or that going too far? Is it the done thing to turn up in a suit, or that too corporate for a web design agency? Also would you take printed examples of your work with you? Thanks
March 8, 201016 yr I'm a bit odd and actually enjoy interviews. I worked in the construction industry for 5 years up till 2008 and worked freelance for 3 of those years. I must have gone to about 12 interviews in 5 years and always got the position. My best advice would be: Interview them too - don't forget - the job has to be suitable to you as much as you need to be suitable for the job Don't be afraid to be yourself Research as much as you can about the company before you go (obvious I know) Have a few questions ready Show that you have goals For the presentation - make eye contact and go slow! All the best!
March 8, 201016 yr To this date iv only had 2 interviews in almost 10 years and one i wouldn't class as an interview it was more the job offer, thats good and bad, good because i really hate them, bad because i really hate them and would of been better for the practice just in case so i can offer no one advice on interviews. But good luck
