Iframe Search

Featured Replies

I was hoping you guys could help me with a little problem I have. I have a site setup with a iframe, the users click links 1 , 2 , 3 etc... to display a different 'list' of images within a set column. I was wondering if it were possible to have a 'search' function, so that a user could enter the a name of an item on a certain list, which in turn would load the appropriate list / page within the iframe, to help the user find something without having to go through each link. Obviously it would have to search the contents of the different pages and load accordingly.

I've never done anything like it so what I'm asking is how to go about it? Or any different approaches you guys would have towards this?

thanks in advance for any help.

Chained select boxes are similar to what you want.

You select an item in the first select option box and it changes the options in the next and when you select an option there it changes the options in the next select box. You don't need an iframe, just position the second (and third) select box where you want.

It needs javascript/ActiveX enabled.

You can't search for anything, only from a list of options.
