Javascript Query

Right I have created a simple drag and drop DHTML page for the user to select their own football squad.

What I am wanting is when the submit button is pressed the users choices are transferred to another template page that shows them so that they can check their selections before they submit them.

Is this possible?

Is it compliacated to work?

Etc.

Attached is a pic of the first page that the user selects the squad with the submit button.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

J

This sounds like a really fun project. As rallport has said the jQuery ui would be the way to go. There are some good examples off draggable elements to look at too. I might have a go at this myself as well. If you need any help gives us a shout.

do you have any more info about what you are going to do with the the lineups once they are saved.

I'm working on a football site application thing (when I get time) and this could be a nice thing to add to it.

that's what I thought to add to my CV/portfolio etc but am just looking for a simple way to do it for now as it is just for a college course that I am doing at the minute.

I've made some progress on this. I've got the drag and drop working to a basic level. I'll need to style it a bit then I need to work out putting the result in the database.

I've you still need help with this give me a shout.

I have the drag and drop done myslef but the submit to a database kind of area I think is a bit more than my knowledge is capable of at the minute. If you get it done let me know so I can see how it is done.

Here is what i've cobbled together. Needs a bit more styling and i'm not storing to database yet but thats just some simple php.

I've got a hidden form and values are added when items are dragged across. I also need to add some validation to the form.

AS the section is CSS, XHTML\HTML & Javascript I was looking for more of a solution without PHP as I have no understanding of the back end coding yet I have merely got the generous amounts of knowledge about the front end etc

I have your solution. The jquery cookie plugin is your friend. I'll just finish typing up and will show you later today.

Have a look it should be working now, theres some validation that needs to be done but the basics are there.
