Adding image on form auto-response

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Im wrapping up the final parts of my PHP file which runs my form on the latest website im developing.

The form itself is working a gem, however the client has requested an automatic response email to be sent to the person who fills out the form. This I have working also.

However ive got two queries for my auto-response script within the PHP file which is bugging me.

1) How do you add an image so it will show up on the Automatic-Response?

2) How can you prevent the Auto-response message sending to the recipients spam box?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

My PHP knowledge is limited, I don't know how you would get an image into the email sent as an auto-response as the PHP is for text only. Have you tried a variable like this:-

$replymsg = 'Thank you for your email submission. <a hef=\"http://www.your-domain.com/image.jpg\">Image description</a>' ;

Where the "a" tag has the " disabled by \ so it doesn't affect the PHP code. It should create a link to the image, but not display it in the email. I haven't tested this. I think to show the image in the email like an html email with <img src=\"http://www.your-domain.com/image.jpg\" alt=\"image description\"> will depend on the contract you have with your ISP, which may not allow html emails showing images.

I would do it by having a separate "Thank You" page which would then have the image in it, in addition to the response email which would be only text.

See item 1b here:-

where the thankyou.html page is shown after the form data is sent by email to you and to the person submitting the form data.
