Background help

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I'm new on this of web design, so i want a suggestion. Its about placing background. So i make this layout for a web and i want to know if its alright in this way that i incorporated the background. i've tested in many browsers like firefox, IE7, IE8 and Google Chrome and its fine, also i try to validate in the web consortium and both files xhtml and css have passed the test (loL).

I putted it colors on every single div just to know what its going on in the browser. This is where i've to explain a couple of things: the outer_header (pink) and the outer_body (the darker green) are the main content for the second background and the ruler its the first background.

So i dont know i just want a cleaner way or maybe another better way to make this happen probably more effectively than this, beacuse those relative and absolute properties need to be use very carefully. Apparently this way works as i explained before but i want an experienced suggestion.

The file is already uploaded

home.html

THX A LOT! - and i would appreciate an answer -

All looks clean enough to me, if you don't want to use absolute positioning for the inner elements you could maybe use auto-margins?
