I'm very new to web design so please forgive me for any naive questions!

 

I would like to include a text box input on my site that appears on the page as soon as it has been written - similar to a facebook wall etc. Would the easiest way of doing this be to store the written data in SQL and then draw on it in the HTML?

Hmm... I'm no expert in PHP/SQL, so not sure if that would work. I have seen similar affects achieved in Ajax and/or jquery, so you might want to check there as well.
