How to out this into a .js file?

Hi,

I have this code for a widget, which wont work as should in wordpress. I believe I need to have this code called from a .js file for it to work correctly in wordpress.

How do I put this particular piece of code into a .js file though?!?!

Your help would be most appreciated.
