Hi,

 

I need to design a database which stores worksheets.

 

A worksheet is basically a table with columns and rows. A user will be able to define their own worksheets with variable number of columns and decide on their own column names.

 

A worksheet has many columns

A user has many worksheets

 

I want the database to be relational (I'll be using mysql) and should meet 1NF.

I think this is an EAV model. I'd be grateful for any advice or tips. I suspect this problem has already been solved in the DB world so an existing solution would be fine.
