The website

The site looks clean and simple.Nice color schemes and fresh design.Some of the links are yet to be completed.

Over all you site is simple and very nice....

You've got a nice website, it's similar to the designs you were asking us to review last year though, and it hasn't developed as much since then. There are a couple of issues with your site though.

• You've used the jpg image format, I'm not sure what, but when you've tried to compress your images, you've been left with some unattractive 'antiques' around your text. Always try and use the PNG image format, it's a designers dream because it manages transparency very well and has fantastic compression!
• Your navigation feels somewhat incomplete, because they're blocks of colour I expect either the colour to change or something good to happen but it doesn't, the text just changes colour, which is a bit of a let down. You could even benefit from blending it in a little better to the design, although I do like the colours that you've used, nice contrasts.
• All of the hovers at the bottom are working properly apart from the 'Email Packages' one, try to be rigarous in your testing!!!
• All of the different pages on your site are nice, and what I'd expect to see from a hosting company's website, the only issue that i've got with these is the footer. You've had a change of layout for the main site, so you could afford to change the layout of your footer. It's not strictly 'cricket' in design terms, but it looks out of place with a gradient at the bottom by itself.
• I could spend ages talking about your code, but it's not too bad, the only thing I would say is to stop using tables as much as you can, you can validate forms without using tables by using <label></label> and some very nice css, so look into it.

Traxor thanks for telling me about the PNG files I cant believe I didn't know that. I also see what you mean about the nav bar Ill try and sort that when I have time. Overall thanks very much.

Is a clean looking site. Text is clear and easy to read. A lot of white space which I personally like, but with enough colour to stop the site from looking plain.

If you need transparency in a larger, or irreuglarly shaped, image then in most cases PNG is the way to go. PNG or GIF is also best for flat colour images.

 

If you don't need transparency and you have a large image to display with a lot of smooth tonal and colour variation then JPEG is probably the best format; you can compress JPEGs without getting 'artefacts', (antiques are what you find in your grandma's hallway) you just need to choose the correct settings.

 

If you have a very small image without much tonal and colour variation then GIF might be worth a try.

 

Advising someone to always use PNGs, regardless of the image content and size, is the equivalent of advising Bob the bricklayer that he needs a DB driven, content managed, ecommerce site with a forum and a blog & hosting on a dedicated server.
