July 24, 200917 yr Hi! what motivated you to sit down one day and keep shouting at peices of code till it works and keep doing it till people start paying you for it!! eventually shouting less hopefully!!! Personally I was working on a cruse ship in the caribbean and got friendly with a guy who wouldn't stop going on about how good photoshop and frontpage (!!!) were. I ended up hanging round with him alot and by the end of my 9 month contract I had picked up a few basic teqniques and have continued to try to learn more since then. I love the idea that anyone can run a successful business or community with just a laptop or PC and also love the creative element mixed with the technical knowhow, I think its a real craft! Only in the last year have I been able to focus more time on it and hope to get to the point where I can help lots of people like others have helped me. Anyway just thought it would be an interesting topic so what about everyone else???
July 24, 200917 yr I hate bosses, wanted something I could do whenever the hell I wanted however I wanted but with minimal startup expenses and I drew this one out of the bag. Though hey people get paid to do what I have been doing as a hobby for over 12 years?!?!? How the hell did I miss that boat?
July 24, 200917 yr I started a cartooning diploma about fours ago. It soon dawned on me that i was trying to enter a highly competitive industry and looked at trying to promote myself better. Someone suggested that i create a website to showcase my cartoons. But because i couldn't afford to pay for one, i got myself and ebook on HTML off ebay and soon found myself hooked. I then gave up on my cartooning and conentrated on getting into another bloody competitive industry. But, i absolutely love it and wouldn't swap it for another job in the world.... err....yeah?
August 1, 200917 yr hmm you seem to have some really intresting startups... well mine begins like this.... my mother works in same skool as computer operator which i study in. my principal told my mom to design a website for the skool but my mom knew none of it.... mom came home and told me about that. coincidently i had studied the verry same day, about html and where and how is it used... i then had my self googling for html any fetched a book from library and soon after i showed a sample to my principal, she liked it and 6 months later i had the site online it is now a year and a half since i first heard about html and i have designed 3 websites since now .... i dont know if anyone else feels so but i could say that i am addicted to webdesigning it is endless and real damn intresting... you conquer one thing the second comes before you only to bring up the third one when you are done with second!
