hi

wanna do a color back ground and an image background on it. is it possible? how do I do that?

here is the design:

Not sure what you mean, you just use:

background:url(<image_url>) #<hex_or_rgb> <position> <repeat>;

  • Author

I dont know why i cant see the image.

that is what I did:

pageHeader

{

background-image:url(header.jpg) no-repeat top center;

margin-top: 0px;

display: block;

width: 1024px;

height: 353px;

float: center;

position:absolute;

}

and on the HTML: <div id="pageHeader"></div>

I am new to CSS. just in the beginning. where I am wrong?

you need to identify pageHeader as an id. so in your css pageHeader becomes #pageHeader (if it was div class="pageHeader"> then you would need to identiyfy pageHeader as a class so it would be .pageHeader.

# for ids

. for classes

:-)
