Opinions please

Hi all,

I've just redesigned my website after a short while playing around with Flash before ditching it and settling for something a little simpler. Does anybody have any opinions or suggestions on it's design?

Cheers.

Hi,

If your main income is weddings. then I am not sure that the black color of the website is suitable for that purpose.

Vera

Vera's right - it's a bit funereal for a couple's "happiest day". Black for photography websites is also the oldest cliche in the book - every one used to be like that, back in the day.

Why not try something new, fresh and different?

it is a little boring:( - surely a photographer should have some great photos?

perhaps use them a bit more aggressively?

I'd suggest a hierarchical grid personally

Crikey - it would be ok for Gothic funerals! Dont break the rules with sites designed to produce income. Wedding sites = white, curls, floral, clean, pink, pastels, subtlety, happy smiling people, rings, cakes. You get the picture.

And use some gradients in that logo text - or its just...text.

I can only agree with the above, and then some... just reversing the black and white bits will probably make a massive difference.

Your first shot is the back end of a wedding guest? Why? Is that the best wedding shot you've taken? A laughing, beautiful bride would be my main homepage shot. As a semi-pro photographer myself I wouldn't hire you - as I probably wouldn't even look at the gallery, which is a shame because there are some good pictures there. Avoid too many arty ones like the champagne bottle. A good mix of std wedding stuff and special moments, and people enjoying themselves will give the impression that your presence will make the day more fun.

Your logo needs redoing too (I don't mind offering some ideas in order to build my portfolio if you're interested).

PS - just gone through the gallery again and there's hardly any 'proper' wedding pics. That's a marketing disaster!! Are you just the secondary photographer by any chance?
