TUTORIAL: Newbies' guide to getting a website online

Featured Replies

An interesting guide.

Although i do wonder if its really a good idea to be promoting people to code in tables and build more sites "to make money" especially when you recommend paypal as the main e-comm setup. Ok, for tiny websites, thats fine, but for proper ones that need more than just paypal? surely a proper integration is needed.

It feels like you've really tried to oversimplify it, even to the extent that youve coded it in tables, and to me the colours just clash.

Is that the sort of site i can expect to make for "a few hundred dollars" (where can you get dreamweaver for that price legaly?) or would a site like:

http://reaperwebdesign.freehostia.com/PureFluke/

or

http://reaperwebdesign.freehostia.com/Lindsey/

both are under development, but both budgeted at $250ish but surely both are much better?

I do understand what your doing, and for personal sites it can be better to get people to use a webeditor, but why not use a freebie online?

just my $0.02
