I'm still new in here

Just wanted someone to review my new joomla template, It's going to be about some handmade things, like crafts.

Its nice mate - I like it.

 

Only thing I would say is thats very text heavy - add some images.

It seems too dull. The dark colours and excessive text make it extremely monotone. Consider lightening it up using images or a paler content background colour.

 

The overall look, and the design as a whole looks very complete and professional.

There are tables in there for layout - I know that Joomla puts them in, which is one reasons why it's a rubbish CMS, but if you're building Joomla themes you should try and find a way to take them out. I know it can be done because I played briefly with Joomla a while back.

 

But to be honest there's a lot of "div-itis" as well... what's all this for?

These sections seem to happen a lot throughout the page. If all they do is add curved corners or background edges (which I assume must be the case) then there are many better ways to do that. jQuery and one of the many corners plugins available, for example, or the sliding doors CSS technique.

I had a brief go with Drupal but found it totally counter-intuitive - I tend to favour WordPress for small sites and CMS Made Simple for larger ones. ModX is (IMO) less easy to use than CMS Made Simple but has many fans on here.
