May 14, 200917 yr This problem is stumping me. I have a div with a set width and height, and overflow:hidden. Inside that div is a dl. dt + dd is set to display:none, and dt:hover + dd is set to display:inherit, and the dd is absolutely positioned outside the containing div. This works fine in Safari, Firefox etc. In IE7 however, the position:absolute dd is still being cut off by the dimensions of the containing div (with overflow:hidden). i.e. despite position:absolute supposedly placing an element outside of the document flow, IE7 is still keeping it limited by the dimensions of the containing div, and cutting off the overflow. Any ideas?
