April 25, 200917 yr Any of you graphical guru-type people know of any good tuts or similar for creating piercings on images? I have an image of a Gecko, and I need to pierce its nose.... Any help would be much appreciated
April 26, 200917 yr Hi scott Here is one of the sites I use for photoshop tutorials which did feature piercings that I think may help you but if not I keep searching. The only thing that the tutorial is missing is correct shadows/highlights which is the most important thing and a good book I bought was "How to cheat in photoshop cs3" or the "top secret" dvd's cover alot of good things http://www.photoshoptalent.com/photoshop-t...ttoos-part1.php I'm sure other members are more experienced and know maybe better sources here than I do as i'm no guru but I hoped I helped. You can always look at just a little of my portfolio that I just put in a gallery on this site if you see something you may want to ask. Take care.
April 26, 200917 yr Author Hey Mooncat, That's ideal, thank you very very much! I'm not overly worried about shadows/highlighting, as it's not a photo-real image. It is, after all, a gecko, not a person lol. Some cracking work in your gallery there! Again, thank you very much for the link. Even I, with my EXTREMELY limited graphical skills can follow that tutorial! Scott
April 26, 200917 yr Cheers for the compliment much appreciated!! and no problem about finding the tutorial After using an S shaped curve in a layer adjustments to add contrast I create two more layers one with a dark blue whilst the other is set to a brown and then change the blending options to overlay and bring down the opacity to 10-15% (usually the blue less than brown). The brown will add warmth whilst the blue brings in details of the mid tones, which can be good for atmospheric film effects, or when used lightly an added boost to an image That me know if your post your finished picture as it would be cool to see. Take care.
April 26, 200917 yr Author OK, now I'm annoyed lol. My photoshop has stopped working, and I can't figure out how to do it in either PSP or Gimp lol (in case it's not obvious, I'm NOT graphically minded!) Will have to dig out my photoshop disc I guess, and do a re-install Will keep you all posted @ Mooncat: Sure thing. Once it's done, I'll post it up for you lot to laugh at
