I am looking for people to review my site as i am unsure what to do next (i am fairly new to web design).Any tips on design and how to generate more visitors would be greatly appreciated.http://www.pegasuscomputers.co.uk

Your site is table based, you could argue that you have a lot of tabular data but it looks like you are using them for everything, it may be better to use them only where necessary and use divs and CSS for the rest of the site, keeping your code lean and to the point will help to improve your search standing.

 

also you have far overstuffed your keywords, a lot of engines will interpret this as keyword spamming and pass you over. select about 5 of the most appropriate and use them only. use a different set on each page to reflect the content.

 

EDIT: the design is a bit uninspiring and poorly executed the gradients for example are really badly banding, my advice would be to have a look at your competitors and see how thier sites are set out, personaly I like shopping sites that are light bright and easy to navigate.

Back to the drawing board I am sorry to say..I'll list all of the major flaws with your site...

 

1, All your content is Javascript....so the robots see blank pages! Disable your javascript and see for yourself (plugin available in firefox)

2, Site structure is flat, only one folder called 'html'

3, No links back to your home page from any other page

4, Titles and Descriptions all the same and too long

Thanks for the review.Ive taken onboard what you have said and have made some changes (more to do).Any ideas on how to solve the banding problem on background image ? .If you could please take the time to make another review i would appreciate your comments on these changes good or bad.

From a design point of view, your site needs to be optimised to that search engine spiders can reach you

 

I agree with the use of <div>'s, it looks like you might have your work cut out

 

Definately, stick with the basics of SEO first and foremost, before attemtping more advanced SEO techniques

 

1. Title tags

 

Every page needs a unique title tag that is specific to that page's keywords. It is a common problem that webmasters face, they do not give each page a unique title tag.

 

 

2. Unique content

 

Every page needs unique on-page content. Remember 'content is king'. Every page needs to have informative information that can be easily read by humans and search engine spiders, a process known as search engine optimisation, see point 4.

 

 

3. Links

 

Every site should have outward and inbound links. It is estimated that web design businesses and companies on average, have, 2000 inbound links - so get linking. Every site should have a system in place for building links (see example). Increasing your reciprocal links, will inevitably increase the volume of traffic visiting your site

 

 

4. Fresh content

 

Every site needs to be updated daily / weekly with new and fresh content, otherwise people wont have a reason to visit again. The use of content management and blogs for example.

 

 

5. Good Design

 

 

Every site needs to have a good design that is optimised. This is so that it can be reached easily by search engine spiders, a process also know as search engine optimisation. People underestimate how a good design can effect their rankings with top search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.

 

I do like the look of the site though
