PHP programmer needs web/graphics/css designer advice

Featured Replies

I have programmed 65% of a website. Before continuing, I though I would check this.

The site is all done in PHP with complex programming, but visually it is very basic.

I will need to pay for graphics/design help.

If I programmed my entire site similar to this:

http://www.4shared.com/file/83240668/57b3d...l?cau2=403tNull

...would I be able to slot in graphics later when a designer has done it.

i.e could a designer produce template colours/images etc. that could slot in?

If you look at ebay.com for example I could do most of this myself (.gif images/text) - but as for the yellow panels - this is what I would need a designer to do. Could I then slot this in later?

Look at the source of my page as this may help.

Thanks a lot for any help.

Well, the short answer is "Yes".

But I think your real question is: can I show this site to a designer and have them come up with a nice design that works?

However, you'll need to have a designer who has some understanding of what it is to design for a dynamically created page (i.e. blocks and regions and banners and how they plug together). I would normally save the page as HTML and have them 'redesign' it with minimal changes to the structure of the HTML and then plug it back in to the templating system or whatever.
