Photo album website. Continue or quit. Your opinion is important

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

As some of you know, I have tried to get feedback from my website (www.myalbumonline.org) and I have tried to improve every aspect criticized. If I want to continue with my website, next week I will have to pay for my server. I believe that my website is good to create personalized albums and display photos and videos, but are not having the performance I expected. I do not have much money to continue with this service more years, or would continue investing in it, but if start to have success. I would like to know your opinion of what should I do. If continue with the website in the hope of becoming a success or quit because they do not have profile to become a success. What should I do? Your opinions will be very important to me.

Best regards

In general, in order to succeed you either have to find a niche, or do something better than everyone else is doing it. Since a lot of services like the one you've created already exist, you're going to have to convince people that yours is better. What do you have that Flickr and the rest don't? There's a million people trying to create the next Facebook, and almost all will fail simply because Facebook already exists. But if the project means a lot to you then you should keep at it and try to improve it.

Ok.

Maybe I continue.

But I would like receive a few more responses or feedbacks to improve my website.

I will really apreciate.

As they say Rome wasnt built in a day, you wont get millions of visitors overnight, some websites take years and years to develop the following they have now, so my advice would be only quit if you absolutly have to, constantly look at ways you can promote usage of your site, Do you have a facebook account?, a bebo account? a twitter account? etc etc etc these could all be used as tools to get the word out about your website.

have a look at your rivals, see what they are doing can you match it, can you even beat it, you have set your sites on a very saturated sector, so you are going to have to work extremely hard at it, if you have the drive and determination and the belief in your site then you should not quit.

Dont be overwhelmed by the big boys, join them and use them to your advantage.
