Form breaks CSS layout on IE

Hi

 

I am just new to this forum and was wondering if you guys can help. I have created a template which validates as HTML 4.01 Transitional and the CSS also validates. However when I add a form (created by my content management system developers not me) the left-hand column layout breaks. This only seems to affect the page in IE.
