December 18, 200817 yr Hello all, I'm new here and don't have much experience with creating websites. I've started building one for my site but I've run into a bit of a problem. I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 and I'm trying to create a simple navbar...not the preset buttons but just a horizontal strip across the top of the page under my banner/title. What I would like is to have the strip divided into 8 sections, each with a word in them to link to different pages. I would like the entire box to be clickable, and not just the word. I'd like the boxes evenly distributed. Thanks! Oh, and what width should my page be? I'm at about 700 right now, centered. Thanks.
December 18, 200817 yr You mean image links.. Image links used to be very common practice in the good old days but nowadays we use the image as the background and have the text as the link. why? because building sites is all about the race to be discovered. Basically spiders (search engine robots) can't read images only text. but its easy to create a rollover image navigation in CS3. I recommend you find a online step by step tutorial on the web. search for 'image rollovers'.
