December 10, 200817 yr I've recently completed a site for a management consultancy firm and as far as I can tell it all works perfectly well. In fact, it works pretty much identically in every browser right back to IE5.5 (more or less). However, when my client looks at one of the pages, it suddenly breaks... just for him. Here's the site; http://mcqueen.10thplanet-clients.com/ the page in question; http://mcqueen.10thplanet-clients.com/about.php and what he sees http://mcqueen.10thplanet-clients.com/images/ohwhy.gif He's running Firefox 3 on OSX, so its not exactly an obscure platform. For some reason, despite the width of the site being set to 870px wide, on his screen it seems to have shown up at 790px. Somehow, he's lost 80 pixels into space at his end. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Cheers Martin
December 10, 200817 yr Try adding clear: both; to #foot { } - it looks like a float clearing issue to me.
December 10, 200817 yr Author Thanks, seems like a reasonable suggestion. I've added it, but unfortunately I have no idea if it has worked for the client. I'm in England, he's in America, so I've got a bit of a wait on now.
December 10, 200817 yr bizare. do you know what resolution screen he is viewing it on, it looks like not only has it moved to hte left but also scaled down a little bit. perhaps if it is a smaller resolution then that is why the footer is pushed up and why the gif looks to be on the left when viewed in a larger monitor.
December 11, 200817 yr Author I wouldn't have thought that screen size would be the case. Judging by the screenshot he sent me (I cropped the one I posted here) He's working on a 24" screen iMac.
December 11, 200817 yr im not sure if it's because you have already fixed the problem, but I just tested it on Firefox using OSX and it's working perfectly. Firefox vs 3.0.4 OSX vs 10.5.2 hope that helps
