Fading pictures in and out

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm currently making a site that has a featured members box on the main page.

Currently, this box holds the info like this:

name

Profile pic

location

It then scrolls from right to left with all the members in the featured group.

i would like to get rid of the scrolling if possible because i think it looks cheap, so i have come up with the idea of having a grid filled with the info above, in maybe 2x rows, 5x cols

Then at random intervals each picture fades out and then fades back in with another members details.

Does anybody know how this would be done - i'm thinking possibly flash, but i have absolutely no experience in this so would appreciate any advice.

I hope i'ev explained it clearly enough, but if not feel free to ask :)

Thanks.
